Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and Threadbound ("we", "us") for use of the Threadbound service. By installing Threadbound into a Slack workspace or creating an account, you agree to them. If you're agreeing on behalf of a company or team, you confirm you're authorised to do so on their behalf.

How we handle data is covered separately in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

The service

Threadbound is a Slack app. When someone in your workspace reacts to a message with your configured trigger emoji, we read that thread, use an AI model to turn it into a structured document, and publish it to a Notion database you've connected. Nothing is captured automatically — every document starts with a person deliberately reacting to a thread.

Your account

You need an account to configure Threadbound. You're responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account. Tell us promptly at support@thread-bound.com if you believe it's been accessed without your permission.

Your content and the access you grant

Your Slack messages and the documents we generate from them remain yours. We claim no ownership over them. You give us permission to access and process that content only as needed to provide the service — reading a captured thread, generating a document from it, and publishing that document to your chosen Notion destination.

You're responsible for having the right to capture the threads you capture. That means: you have permission to use Threadbound in the workspace, and the people whose messages get captured are covered by your own workspace policies. Threadbound can only read the channels you configure, but choosing which channels and threads are appropriate to document is your call, not ours.

AI-generated documents

Documents are generated by an AI model and can be wrong. They may miss context, misattribute who said what, or omit a decision that mattered. Treat them as a strong first draft, not a verbatim record — check anything important against the original Slack thread before relying on it. You're responsible for reviewing generated documents before treating them as accurate, and we're not liable for decisions made on the basis of one that turns out to be wrong.

We currently use Google Gemini for this processing. The provider may change over time; the current one is always named in our Privacy Policy.

Acceptable use

Don't use Threadbound to:

• Capture content you don't have the right to capture, or use it to surveil people without their knowledge.
• Break the law, infringe someone's rights, or violate Slack's or Notion's terms.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service, other customers' data, or the systems we run on.
• Interfere with the service's operation — including deliberately overwhelming it or circumventing usage limits.
• Resell or redistribute the service without our written agreement.

Plans, billing and cancellation

Threadbound has a free plan limited to 5 captures per calendar month, and a paid plan at $29 USD per month per Slack workspace, with unlimited captures. Failed captures don't count against the free plan's limit.

Payments are processed by Stripe — we never see or store your card details. Paid plans renew automatically each month until cancelled. You can cancel any time from your dashboard; your subscription stays active until the end of the period you've already paid for, and we don't pro-rate refunds for partial months. If a payment fails, we may suspend the paid features until it's resolved.

We may change pricing, but not without notifying you in advance of it applying to your subscription.

Services we depend on

Threadbound relies on Slack, Notion, our AI provider, Stripe, and our hosting and database providers. Your use of Slack and Notion is governed by your agreements with them, not this one. If one of those services changes, has an outage, or cuts off access, Threadbound may be degraded or unavailable through no fault of ours. The full list of processors is in our Privacy Policy.

Availability and changes

We aim to keep Threadbound running reliably, but we don't promise uninterrupted service and there's no uptime guarantee. We may add, change or remove features, and may occasionally take the service down for maintenance. If we discontinue the service entirely, we'll give reasonable notice so you can retrieve anything you need — though note your generated documents already live in your own Notion workspace, not ours.

Termination

You can stop using Threadbound whenever you like — uninstall it from Slack and captures stop immediately. To have your account and stored data deleted, email support@thread-bound.com.

We may suspend or terminate access if these terms are seriously or repeatedly breached, or where we're required to by law. Except where the breach makes it impractical, we'll give you notice and a chance to put it right first. Documents already published to your Notion remain yours and are unaffected.

Disclaimers and liability

Threadbound is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We don't warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that generated documents will be accurate.

To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred Canadian dollars.

Some jurisdictions don't allow certain warranty disclaimers or liability limitations, so parts of the above may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under applicable consumer protection law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service develops. If the changes are material, we'll update this page and change the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use Threadbound after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of New Brunswick and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict of law rules. Disputes will be handled by the courts of New Brunswick, though this doesn't remove any right you have to bring a claim in your own place of residence where consumer protection law gives you that right.
